I wanted to talk about the period of time when I just had got surgery. This was my first time having surgery so everything was kind of new to me. I found out at the end of the season that I tore my labrum on my left shoulder. The bad thing about that was I am left handed so some stuff that I usually do with my left hand, I would have to do with my right hand.
I’m very thankful that none of my classes are heavy on note taking. I also would have to go to the training room no later than 6:30 am to get treatment. From the training room I went to breakfast then to practice to go lift. Even with me being in a sling I still worked out with the team, I was just limited to some upper body exercises. Right after practice, I would go to all my classes then study hall after class. Majority of the football players are required to do 8 hours throughout the week. I think the roughest part of me recovering from surgery was me sleeping. I would have to sleep elevated on and I felt like it would keep me up some night. Through the whole process of me recovering, I feel way better today and I am striving to get back 100% before the season starts.
